The Origin of Hotel Weddings
Many Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples in Tokyo were destroyed by fire during the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923. At a time when weddings were commonly held at home or at a Shinto shrine, we installed a shrine altar in the hotel as an alternative option for budding brides and grooms. This spawned a new trend and is said to be the origin of the Japanese 'hotel wedding' style, in which the ceremony and reception are held within the same building. To this day, we continue to offer modern weddings infused with the traditions of the past, and have created unforgettable experiences for countless happy couples.
