Reservations and Accommodations

Q Can I make reservations on the day I wish to arrive?

Reservations are certainly possible, though it will depend on occupancy availability. Please either telephone us to check, or check for vacancies online.

Q Can I specify the floor or location I wish to stay in?

This is certainly possible, though it will depend on occupancy availability. Please inquire directly.

Q Do you offer any non-smoking rooms?

We do offer non-smoking rooms, so please let us know your wishes when you make your reservation. We can also accommodate your requests via internet reservations. However, please note that we may not be able to accommodate your requests if no non-smoking rooms are available at the time of request.

Q Our children are still small, so how does this change the room price? What ages or numbers are covered?

Pre-school children (under the age of 5) may sleep in the same bed as their parents at no extra charge. One pre-school child may sleep with one adult. Should you prefer to have your pre-school children sleep in their own separate beds, the adult price will apply.

Q If the internet site says there are no vacancies, does this mean you have no more rooms available?

There may be instances when we may be able to accommodate you, so please inquire directly.

Q What are your check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 2:00 p.m. and check-out is at 12:00 noon. Please inquire directly regarding early check-in or late check-out.

Q What should I do if I will be checking in late?

Please let us know in advance. Please note that if we do not hear from you, we may consider your reservation cancelled as of midnight of the date reserved.

Q Which credit cards do you accept?

We accept the following cards: AX / VS / MS / UC / DC / DN / JCB / SA and so on.

There may be limitations for cards not listed above, or at certain shops or restaurants, so please inquire for details.

Q What are your cancellation charges?

The following charges will apply if you cancel your reservations.

Cancellation the day before arrival: 20%
Cancellation on the day of arrival: 80%
No-show: 100%

Different cancellation charges may apply with some accommodation plans. Please check your package plan for details.

Q Can I check or cancel reservations I made through the internet reservation system?

Please follow the procedures at “View, Amend or Cancel Your Reservation.” Please note that the deadline for cancelling reservations through our internet site varies by accommodation plan. If the deadline has passed, please contact the hotel directly.


Q What amenities are available in the guestrooms?

These vary slightly with the room, so please refer here for details.

Q What items may I borrow for usage in the rooms?

Please refer here. We supply limited numbers, so please inquire directly for details.

Q How much is the parking fee for overnight stays?

The fee is 3,000 yen per car per night (normally the maximum charge is 12,000 yen per day) .

The charge for ICI (Imperial Club International) members is 1,000 yen per car per night. Please present your parking ticket at the front desk upon check-in and check-out.

Q What sort of items may I borrow for young children?

We offer baby beds, diaper disposal bins, step-stools, children's toilet seats, as well as children's toothbrushes, cups, and slippers. However we stock limited numbers, so please inquire directly for details.

Q Do you provide additional beds?

We stock limited numbers of additional beds, so please make your request when you book. We also provide cots for infants free of charge.

Q Do you offer any flowers or cakes or the like for guests staying on a special commemorative night?

Yes, we do, so please make your request when you book.

Q What hours is room service available?

Room service is available 24 hours a day. The menu differs by time of day, so please refer to the menus available in your room for details, or inquire directly.

Q Do you offer handicapped-accessible rooms?

We do. Please inquire about availability when making reservations.

Q Do you allow pets?

We ask that you not bring any pets into the hotel (with the exception of guide dogs, hearing dogs, and service dogs for handicapped patrons).

Q Is internet access available?

Residents guests may use high-speed LAN or Wi-Fi connections. We will provide you with a Wi-Fi password when you check in.

Q Are there computers I can rent?

We offer laptops for rent at the Executive Services Center. Resident guests may rent these for 5,500 yen (including consumption tax) per night. Supplies are limited, so please inquire in advance. In addition, guests may use the workstations on a complimentary basis.

Q How far ahead do you accept reservations?

We accept reservations up to two years in advance. In addition, we generally accept reservations on the internet up to six months in advance.

Q Are there any discounts when booking through the internet?

We offer a number of plans. Please refer to our Offers page for more details.

Q Storage of valuables

We offer free safe deposit boxes at the front desk. There are also small safes available in the guestrooms.

Q What makes the Imperial Floors so special?

  • Deferential attention throughout. Dedicated Guest Attendants on each floor do their best to ensure you have a pleasant and relaxing stay.
  • The Imperial Hotel's original SleepWorks beds use mattresses that incorporate special fibers that generate negative ions to ensure comfortable and soothing sleep.
  • Guests are extended complimentary use of our Fitness Center, Pool, and Saunas.
  • Guests are offered complimentary shoe shine service everyday.
  • Special entrances requiring card keys in the elevator hall, giving you extra peace of mind.
  • The air conditioning units incorporate air cleaners that use Sharp's Plasmacluster Ion units to effectively remove airborne viruses and allergens.
Q Do you provide pyjamas?

All rooms are provided with traditional yukata robes.
We offer pyjamas on request as well.

Q What is your deposit policy?

As part of our payment procedure, we require either registration of your credit card when you arrive, or cash equivalent to 150% of the reserved price.

Q Can I buy accommodation gift coupons?

We sell Accommodation Gift Certificates that can be used for staying in the Main Building at the Lobby Floor Hotel Check In Counters in the Imperial Hotel, Tokyo.

Q Can I specify a room number?

We are unfortunately unable to accept reservations for specific rooms. We can only provide rooms of the general type you have reserved.

Q Can you hold my luggage before I check in or after I check out?

We shall be pleased to take care of your luggage at the Bell Captain's Desk.

Q When and where is breakfast served?

Breakfast may be taken either in some restaurants, or through Room Service.

Q Do you have a laundry service?

We provide laundry facilities in the hotel, including washing machines, dryers, and presses. The Imperial was the first hotel in Japan to operate a laundry service on its own premises.

Q Can I request a massage in my room?

Q What is "turn-down service"?

From 5:00 p.m. to around 9:00 p.m. we replace used glasses, remove rubbish, and prepare your bed for your retiring

Q I have become unwell during my stay.

The Duty Manager is on call 24 hours a day, and is trained to assist guests with emergencies. Please feel free to contact him. There are also a number of general hospitals in the surrounding area.


Q Can I buy one of the Imperial Hotel's original SleepWorks beds as used on the Imperial Floors?

These SleepWorks beds are order-made. Orders may be made via telephone.

Q Do you have any connecting rooms?

We offer connecting rooms in the Tower Building and the Main Building. You may specify a connecting room if one is available. Please inquire directly.

Q Is there any drinking water or hot water provided in the rooms?

We provide complimentary bottles of mineral water. For hot water, you can either use the hot water jug in your room, or ask Room Service to provide some, free of charge.
